Štrbské pleso

Detail

It is one of the most visited places in the High Tatras. As the highest-altitude Tatra settlement, Štrbské Pleso serves as a starting point for numerous hiking trails.

The lake itself is the second largest in the Tatra Mountains, and its uniqueness lies in the fact that only here can you experience attractions with a tradition spanning more than 130 years. Boating on the lake is especially popular during the summer months and continues into autumn, as long as weather conditions allow.

This exceptional place even competed for the title of the “Seventh Wonder of the World.” Equally traditional and charming is a walk along the promenade that circles the lake. No professional hiking gear is needed — you’ll encounter joggers, parents with strollers, students on school trips, and locals who continue to enjoy the timeless atmosphere of this remarkable place.
